This rack / shelf design in not the most elegant one you can buy, but it seems solid enough, and is easy to assemble and install. Rack depth is 9 inches overall, with a 2-inch gap between the back edge of the glass and the wall. The glass has a little play, but is securely held in place with a properly assembled unit.
This would have been a perfect transaction, but, unfortunately, the bag holding the assembly hardware had been opened (apparently a return?) and we were missing 2 bolts and the hex driver. Needed an unexpected trip to the hardware store and an extra .73 to remedy. Bummer.
